Energy Performance Certificates (EPC)

All commercial buildings now require Energy Performance Certificates (EPC) when sold or rented.

The EPC will need to be carried out by a qualified energy assessor and may require a site visit in order to give an accurate quotation.

The Commercial or Non-Dwelling EPC is far more complex then a residential EPC and the time scales in which it would take to carry out the assessment are largely dependent on building size, layout and types of service used e.g. ventilation and air conditioning.

Display Energy Certificates (DEC) and Advisory Reports

Any publicly owned or used building over 1000 square meters are now required to display a DEC in a prominent position clearly visible to the general public.

Again the DEC is different from the EPC and will require information on the building's energy consumption e.g. gas and electricity meter readings.
